General information

These charming apartments from the turn of the century are generally bright, airy and well planned. Much of the original charm from the turn of the century has been preserved, like high ceilings and beautiful parquet floors.

Location

The apartments at Östgötagatan 64 and Ölandsgatan 50-52 are located in the popular neighborhood SoFo (south of Folkungagatan), in central Stockholm. The blocks south of Folkungagatan are packed with lots of restaurants, cafés, bars and creative shops specializing in clothing, vintage, music and much more.

This area is also beautifully located near water: only a few hundred meters from Ölandsgatan/Östgötagatan, there are nice walking tracks along “Årstaviken” which are ideal for jogging and power walks. You can also take a ferry from “Barnängsbryggan” to Hammarby Sjöstad to have a picnic on some of the lovely quays (the ferry trip takes about 5 minutes and is free of charge).

• Private bathroom
• Kitchen with basic cooking utensils
• One bedroom and one living room. The bedroom has 1 bed (size 140 x 200 cm) and the living room has a sofa bed.
• Access to common laundry room
• Rent: SEK 482-526 per night depending on the size of the apartment

1 family apartment

• Private apartment, size 66 square meters
• Private bathroom
• Kitchen with basic cooking utensils
• Two bedrooms, one living room and an outdoor terrace. The main bedroom has 1 bed (size 140 x 200 cm) and the smaller bedroom has 1 bed (size 90 x 200 cm).
• Access to common laundry room
• Rent: SEK 547 per night

Furniture

The tenant is responsible for keeping the apartment (and its furniture) clean during the whole lease and for leaving it clean for the new tenant.

Deficiencies regarding the inventory must be reported to the KI Housing office. When a student is leaving, damaged and/or missing items will be replaced and charged to the tenant.

Bedlinen

The beds are equipped with mattress, mattress cover, quilt and pillow. Please note that you need to bring your own bed linen and towels.

 

 

Internet

Broadband is installed in all apartments and a router is provided. Login details are written on the router. At this link you can download an internet guide.

TV/Cable TV

The apartments are not equipped with TV-sets. If you decide to buy a TV, you will have access to the Swedish network. However, note that anybody possessing a TV-receiver has to pay a TV-fee to Radiotjänst.

Kitchen utensils

All studios and apartments are equipped with basic kitchen utensils.

Smoke detectors

All apartments are equipped with smoke detectors.

KI Housing checks the detector between tenants and the tenant is responsible for notifying us of any deficiency of the detector during the tenancy. If you hear a beeping sound, the battery of the detector needs to be exchanged. Please remove the battery and submit a maintenance request at this link.

Cleaning equipment

All apartments are equipped with a vacuum cleaner, mop and pail.

Please note that vacuum bags are not provided – the tenant is responsible for buying new vacuuming bags during the leasing period (those can be bought in larger grocery stores or shops like Clas Ohlson).

Laundry room

There is a laundry room in the basement of the building.

Garbage disposal

The containers for domestic waste are located in the inner courtyard. All domestic waste needs to be put in plastic bags and these are to be tightly sealed before the disposal.

The closest recycling station is located at Bjurholmsgatan 16, where you can recycle glass, metal, cardboard, plastic and newspapers.

Mailboxes

There is a mail slot on the apartment door to where the mail is delivered.

Storage room

Each studio has a small storage room belonging to the apartment. This storage room should be located either in the basement or the attic

Bike storage

There are bicycle stands in the courtyard.

Door phone

Your phone may be connected to the entrance door phone, so that you can open for your visitors by pressing “5”. Please contact KI Housing to use this service. The service may be useful as there is no door code for the main entrance door.

Car parking

If you have a car and need residential parking, you will need to contact Stockholm stad, please send an email to boendep@stockholm.se.

How to get here from the Central station

Take the subway from T-centralen, the green line towards Farsta Strand/Skarpnäck/Hagsätra. Get off at Skanstull. From Skanstull you may walk to Ölandsgatan 50-52/Östgötagatan 64 (about 250 meters). The travel time is about 10 minutes.

How to get to – KI Campus Flemingsberg

You may choose between the following alternatives:

  • Take the subway, the green line towards Hagsätra, from Skanstull to Högdalen. From Högdalen take Blue bus No 172 towards Fittja and get off at Karolinska universitetssjukhuset. The average travel time door from to door is about 50 minutes.
  • Take blue bus No 4, towards Radiohuset, from Skanstull to Södra station. From Södra station take the commuter train towards Södertälje to Flemingsberg. Walk 900 meters to the Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge. The average travel time from door to door is about 50 minutes.
  • Walk to Södra station (about 1.3 kilometers) and take the commuter train towards Södertälje. Get off at Flemingsberg and from there you may walk to the Campus in Huddinge (about 900 meters). The average travel time from door to door is about 40 minutes.

How to get to – KI Campus Solna

You may choose between the following alternatives:

  • Take the subway, the green line towards Hässelby, from Skanstull to St Eriksplan (18 minutes). From St Eriksplan, take blue bus No 3 towards Karolinska sjukhuset to Torsplan, or walk to Karolinska Institutet in 10-15 minutes. Average travel time from door to door is about 35 minutes.
  • Take Blue bus No 3 from Skanstull towards Karolinska Sjukhuset and get off at Torsplan, then walk to Karolinska Institutet. Average travel time from door to door about 40 minutes.
  • Walk to Södra station (about 1.3 kilometers) and take the commuter train towards Uppsala, Märsta, Kungsängen or Bålsta. Get off at Karlberg and from there you may walk to the Campus in Solna (about 1.2 kilometers). The travel time from door to door is about 35 minutes.
